• 5 nights at a selection of boutique B&B, high country station or cottage accommodation. Ensuite bathrooms except on the first night.

• Pick-up and drop-off to your hotel in Queenstown and all transport on the tour.
• Helicopter flight across the Tasman River.

• We eat at the best restaurants and cafes, serving high quality meals, made with fresh local produce, catering to all dietary requirements.
• Full vehicle support throughout the journey. If you feel like a break from the cycling, or the weather turns bad, you can always jump in the van and skip a section.
• We provide a support rider at the back of the group on the more challenging and remote sections of trail.
• Your friendly tour guide provides full assistance and instructions with the bikes and equipment as well as interesting background on the places you visit.
• Our famous make-your-own picnics! With a fabulous selection of cold meats, cheeses, olives, breads, wraps, salad and dips.
• Drinks breaks provided along the trail include a selection of teas, plunger coffee, hot chocolate and water.
• Unlimited snacks – fresh seasonal fruit, mixed nuts, oat bars and a selection of classic NZ sweets and lollies.

Excluded:

• Alcohol, drinks and barista coffees purchased in restaurants or cafés.
• Tips or gratuities for your tour guide – completely discretionary.

• Day 1 – Pick up from Queenstown and drive to Mt Cook, stopping for breaks and picnic lunch. Helicopter flight over Tasman River surrounded by New Zealand’s highest mountains. Follow the edge of Lake Pukaki to finish in a remote and stunning location.
• Day 2 – Ride beside a beautiful alpine lake stopping for a picnic with amazing views. Cross amazing tussock flats and spend the night in Twizel.
• Day 3 – The trail winds around a stunning glacial lake before heading up and over a hill with amazing views over the countryside. Soak tired muscles in the wonderful outdoor jacuzzi hot tubs to finish the day.
• Day 4 – Leave the high mountain peaks and enter a braided river system past a series of stunning lakes. After the day’s cycling, we have a private wine tasting at a local vineyard.
• Day 5 – Follow the river as it leaves the alpine highlands and winds into a patchwork of crops and pasture. Then leave the river and head up into the hills past some amazing limestone formations, then through an old railway tunnel and across the coastal plains.
• Day 6 – A short ride to finish in the historic town of Oamaru. Celebrate you have completed the Alps to Ocean with a fantastic lunch at a local brewery, then we take you back to Queenstown arriving back at your accommodation around 5.30 pm.

• You can choose between a high tech ebike or mountain bike – both are included in the price. However, please only choose an non-electric bike if you are an expert rider with a VERY high level of fitness and regularly ride over 50km per day on gravel. The trail is much more challenging to ride on a non-electric bike. Many of our guests who choose a non-electric bike end up regretting their decision. We generally encourage everyone to choose an ebike. You can always choose to dial back the level of support on an ebike if you want more of a workout.
• It’s possible to start or finish the Alps to Ocean tour with connecting buses to and from Christchurch.
• Private Tours can be arranged, subject to the availability of accommodation. Let us know your dates and requirements and let us do the organising for you! The Price depends on the time of year and number of people.
