The area has a truly wild and remote feel, with very limited vehicle access. Visit some secluded glacial lakes then we shuttle you to your dinner and accommodation in Te Anau, .
  • Day 2 – The cycle trail follows a beautiful river through native bush between 2 giant lakes on the edge of Fiordland National Park. After lunch we rejoin the Around the Mountains cycle trail beside the Oreti river.
  • Day 3 – We follow the cycle trail north, back into the mountains and into an ancient glaciated valley. Spend the night at a beautiful vinyard with an outdoor hot tub and a private wine tasting.
  • Day 4 – Today is a day of change and contrast. We take you to the mighty Clutha, NZ’s biggest river by volume and ride a beautiful section of trail beside a lake and river. We spend the night at a lovely country lodge with a fantastic restaurant.
  • Day 5 – Today we ride the mighty Clutha Gold – an easy bike trail following the aqua blue river. At the end of the day’s cycling we may have time for a scenic walk to a lookout over the surrounding valley before dinner.
  • Day 6 – We finish with a real highlight. Starting high above the river, the trail drops into the Roxburgh gorge, skirting the canyon walls to reach a small jetty, far from civilisation. Then take a jet boat through the central canyon learning about the gold mining history. Back in the saddle, we follow the river to finish at one of New Zealand’s most impressive feats of engineering. After a final celebratory lunch we drop you back in Queenstown in the late afternoon.
